It’s that time of the year again! With nearly 2 weeks left, there are still plenty of things to do across the city to get you into the holiday spirit. For students experiencing their first winter holiday season in Canada, you may have noticed the Starbucks holiday-inspired cups, busy shopping malls, and festive lights illuminating the City of London. WINTER WONDERLAND

See the City of London in a whole new “light” by walking through the lovely Victoria Park to experience the lights and decor close up. There is also a free skating rink open to the public. You can rent skates or bring your own!

STORYBOOK GARDEN’S
ICE SKATING TRAIL

When: OPENS DEC 4TH

WHERE: 1958 STORYBOOK LANE, LONDON, ON

Located at beautiful Springbank Park here in London, a 250 metre skate trail is open for the public. After skating along the path, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee and fresh-warm pastries offered from the rink-side Beavertails location.

TORONTO CHRISTMAS MARKET

WHEN: NOV 15 – DEC 23

WHERE: DISTILLERY DISTRICT, TORONTO, ON

Toronto’s favourite holiday event is back for their 9th year, offering a ton of Christmas-inspired events all month long, like photos with Santa, ferris wheels and carousels, food vendors, and several photo spots to capture the magical experience.

SKATING AT NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE

WHEN: Opens nov 24th

At the heart of downtown Toronto, the largest skating rink is open to the public and transformed into a holiday spectacle, with thousands of christmas lights, ornaments, and the city’s official Christmas Tree. This year, musical performances and fireworks are set to occur during the month, so be sure to check out their events page.

CHRISTMAS AT CASA LOMA

WHEN: Dec 1 – Jan 6

WHERE: Casa Loma, Toronto, ON

Casa Loma is transforming their castle to a winter wonderland, hosting a wide-array of performances, from illusionists to ice skating performers for your friends and family to enjoy. As well, the castle is filled with holiday decor, including a 40 ft Christmas Tree. Outside the castle, sparkling lights are displayed throughout the garden and performances by the Casa Loma Holiday Orchestra!

NIAGARA FALLS WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

WHERE: qUEEN victoria Park, niagAra falls, on

With millions of visitors each season, check out the Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls. The 8 km path showcases the beautiful landscape of Niagara Falls with its sparkling light displays to help you capture the magic of the holiday season. Several events will also be taking place through out the month, such as laser light shows, weekly fireworks, Deck the Falls Holiday Walking Tour, and much much more!

AURORA WINTER FESTIVAL

WHEN: nov 29 – dec 30

This is one of Canada’s largest winter festivals! This old amusement park is transformed to a North-pole inspired village with several attractions, including an outdoor ice-skating pond, 50 ft LED light dome, Santa’s workshop, carnival rides, tube park, and over 50 Christmas-inspired market vendors.
